Why should we give?

We give of our resources for three specific reasons; to honor God with our tithe, support the equipping of the church through giving, and to advance the work of the church across the globe through missions. Each of these are important and require trust in the Lord. Take a moment and read through each of these descriptions before you give of your finances. We recognize that it also requires trust in the local church. It is a value of ours to maintain a high level of integrity as we work toward building the church God has called us to steward.
Should you have any questions about the stewardship of these resources, please don't hesitate to reach out to Pastor Michael.

The tithe is established for one reason only. It shows that we have placed Jesus as Lord over every area of our lives including our resources. In Malachi 3:10, we read the promise of God to feed us when we honor him with the tithe. "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house." (Malachi 3:10) This isn't a verse about receiving physical things or riches from God, but a verse about receiving spiritual food from him when we place him first. Matthew 6:33 also reminds us to put God first, and He will take care of everything else. Our tithe is simple obedience to say, "God, you are LORD of my life. You can take it all, because it already belongs to you!"

This is why Christians practice giving a tithe (10%) from every financial gain that they make. It simply says, "you are LORD of every part of my life, including my livelihood!

Throughout history Christians have been the ones to create some of the most life-changing organizations around the world. Hospitals, shelters, child welfare programs, boys and girls clubs, and much more are the result of the church being equipped to take care of society. Today, organizations such as World Relief, Feed My Starving Children, Convoy of Hope, and Word Vision, are leading the way in immigrant care, reproducing the underfunded, and entering dark spaces to bring light. Convoy of Hope continues to be on the front line of disaster relief around the globe. These all represent what happens when the church gives of their resources to take care of others.
