Mesa City Church
Mesa City church is a community of people who are learning to become who God designed them to be. We believe the best way to do that is through a relationship with Jesus. This is a relationship that is available for all people, no matter their social, political, or economic status. The heart of God is to be with you and help you become all that he has made you to be! Our experience is that this is more easily understood inside a community of likeminded people who love and accept one another throughout this process of becoming!
Core Values

COMMUNITY
We believe that all people should have the chance to connect with a. group of loving peers who will accept them, one them, and help them grow. No. matter where they are at, what they have done, or how they are living their life. everyone deserves the chance to meet Jesus either for the first time, or through a fresh revelation. This is best done in a community where you feel safe.

CHARACTER
You can either become anyone on accident, or someone on purpose. We believe in helping people become the person they were designed to be. This is why community is so important. Inside of community, we help one another explore their God given design and how that impacts the person they are becoming.

CREATIVITY
Each of us were created in the image of God (Imago Dei). We believe the church should be the most creative outlet in society. This happens as we learn to embrace one another's differences and who each of us were created to be. Our gatherings are designed to celebrate the creativity found in the beauty of the story of God.

CULTURE
It has been said that the church is the hope of the world. This happens when people become aware of how God made them to be part of his workmanship, and then answer the calling to do the works he prepared for them to do. We believe in releasing people to serve in the church, while being empowered to live a life that shapes the culture around them.
Core Beliefs

Holy Spirit Empowerment
The Holy Spirit is given to God's people as a way to receive the empowerment to BE who he called them to BE. Through the filling of the Holy Spirit, we are able to live out God's plan for our lives.

The Bible is our Guide
All that we do is based around the proper study and interpretation of scripture. It is the bedrock of our belief formulation. "The word of God is alive and active, sharper than any double edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joint and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)

Prayer is our
alignment
It is through prayer that we align with the heart of God. Jesus taught us to pray, "Thy kingdoms come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. This as Jesus's way of showing us how to align our hearts with God. If we are going to understand our purpose and calling, we must seek the Lord and His plans.

We shape
culture
All of us were called to make a difference. As we develop and mature, we will be empowered to make a difference in the world around us. The culture around us matters, and we are called to help shape it with light and goodness.

We carry the
Imago Dei

All people were created in the image of God. Genesis 1:27 says, "So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he crated them." Our uniqueness is part of God's design. We celebrate this diversity!

Diversity
matters
We were fashioned and formed by God's creativity in order to be a diverse group of people. Each person was intentionally thought out by God and He knit us together. "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, I know that full well. (Psalm 139:13-14)

Questions Matter
It is only through asking questions that we are able to get to answers. It is important to Mesa City Church, that people have a safe place to learn through questioning. 1 Thessalonians 5:19-20 says, "Do not quench the Spirit. Do not treat prophecies with contempt, but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil."

Unity is non-negotiable
We can only be unified when there is diversity, yet each of us are called to unity. Ephesians 4:16 says, "be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and ion all."

Equipping is our mandate
We believe that God created each of us unique, with a specific talent, ability, and gifting designed to participate in God's story. We believe in helping people find their gifts. Ephesians 4:11-12 "So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service so that the body of Christ may be build up"

Maturity is
our goal
We believe that equipping people is the only way the body of Christ can be built up with Jesus as the head. The marks of this are unity in faith and knowledge. Ephesians 4:13 says, "until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." This inspires the growth that allows maturity. "Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in ever respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.

Engagement
is the outcome
We believe in engaging with the community of Jesus followers, as well as the community outside the walls of the church. The marks of maturity as continued in Ephesians 4:16 say, "From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work." A mature part of the body will be engaged through seeing others while also engaging in presenting the Gospel to others.
