Heart

The heart is the only muscle in the body that does not fully rest - and if it does, we find ourselves in a serious predicament. Our spiritual heart is the same way. We are always longing for something more. The only way to tame the heart, is to find proactive ways to direct the heart where we need it to go.

For that reason, we have a saying that says, “Want What God Wants.”

Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all the things will be added to you.”

Our practice of the Heart - Study and Learn.

David says, “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name!”

(Psalm 103:1 ESV) But he is only able to say this after much reflection on how he feels and what he is going through. His honesty allowed him the ability to praise the Lord. It is only when you learn to Be Real With How You Feel that you will find emotionally healthy spirituality.

Mind

Our practice of the mind - serving, community engagement

Paul tells us in the book of Romans, “Do not copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.” (12:2 NLT) What is the behavior and customs of the world? Selfishness. You don’t have to tell a baby to say the word, “mine.” They naturally figure that one out on their own due to their human nature. If we are going to break this patter, we have to renew our mind and think differently. This will require that we learn to Put Others First.

Strength

If we are going to grow into the people God designed us to be, we must become the people he can work through at all times and in all places. This means that we will need to adjust our attitude and efforts in order to make sure that no matter what we do, we Do It For God
